"Tell Me That You Love Me" is a song performed by American actors and singers Victoria Justice and Leon Thomas III, written by Michael Corcoran, CJ Abraham, and Dan Schneider, and produced by Greg Wells, Corcoran, and Abraham, for the Nickelodeon television series Victorious. It was originally released on the series' website TheSlap on October 2, 2010, and later included as the 10th track on the soundtrack album, Victorious: Music from the Hit TV Show.[1]

Release and promotion[]

After it appeared in Victorious, "Tell Me That You Love Me" was released on the series' official website TheSlap on October 2, 2010, but wasn't released on any official music platform at the time.[1] Columbia Records and Nickelodeon later confirmed it would be the 10th track on the soundtrack album, released under the title Victorious: Music from the Hit TV Show on August 2, 2011.[2]

Justice performed a medley of "Tell Me That You Love Me" with "You're the Reason" on her 2013 second concert tour, Summer Break Tour.

"The Great Ping Pong Scam"[]

"Tell Me That You Love Me" was performed by Tori Vega (portrayed by Victoria Justice) and André Harris (portrayed by Leon Thomas III) in the episode "The Great Ping Pong Scam", that premiered on October 1, 2010. Tori, André, and their friends eat at Maestro's, an expensive restaurant known for performing classy live music there. During their dinner, the restaurant has a problem because the artists who were scheduled to perform that day didn't show up due to a golfing accident, and new performers weren't hired. An additional problem arose when the gang got a bill they couldn't afford to pay because Robbie Shapiro (portrayed by Matt Bennett) ordered a big bowl of caviar, not knowing it could cost as much as $600. An argument ensues between the gang, the employees, and the restaurant owner, which is interrupted by the manager pointing out why there is still no live music. Tori comes up with an idea that could fix both of their problems and has Jade West (portrayed by Elizabeth Gillies) give her a dress. Tori and André perform "Tell Me That You Love Me" at the restaurant, that receives applause from its staff and customers, and presumably also helped the gang pay for their dinner.

A performance of this episode is later used during the closing credits of the episode "A Christmas Tori" (in which "It's Not Christmas Without You" was performed) that aired on December 3, 2011.

On TheSlap[]

According to a post on TheSlap, André Harris wrote "Tell Me That You Love Me" in the series' universe.[3]

The song was performed in the third episode of the Rex Sings segment on TheSlap by Rex Powers (voiced by Jake Farrow), to which Sinjin Van Cleef (portrayed by Michael Eric Reid) dances.

Lyrics[]

[Intro]
Oh, oh
Yeah
Yeah

[Verse 1]
The situation turned around
Enough to figure out
That someone else has let you down
So many times I don't know why

[Pre-chorus]
But I know we can make it
As long as you say it

[Chorus]
So tell me that you love me, yeah
And tell me that I take your breath away
Maybe if you take one more
Then, I would know for sure
There's nothin' left to say
Tell me that you love me anyway

[Post-chorus]
So tell me that you love me anyway
Whoa, oh, oh

[Verse 2]
Wakin' up beside yourself
And what you feel inside
Is bein' shared with someone else
Nowhere to hide, I don't know why

[Pre-chorus]
But I know we can make it
As long as you say it

[Chorus]
So tell me that you love me, yeah
And tell me that I take your breath away
Maybe if you take one more
Then, I would know for sure
There's nothin' left to say
But tell me that you love me anyway

[Bridge]
Show me, look what we found
It's turnin' around everyday
I can hear what you say
Now, I know why
I know we can make it

[Chorus]
If you tell me that you love me, yeah
And tell me that I take your breath away
Maybe if you take one more
So tell me that you love me, yeah
And tell me that I take your breath away
Maybe if you take one more
Then, I would know for sure
There's nothin' left to say
But tell me that you love me anyway
